Biography

The credit for the Star Sound phenomenon possibly belongs to an unknown European bootlegger who created a medley of songs by original artists for use in discotheques during 1980. One of the tunes in the sequence was Shocking Blue’s ‘Venus’ and its appearance so outraged publisher William van Kooten that he was determined to record a rival legal version.
