Keith Moore Mitchell, 20 September 1927, New York City, New York, USA, d. 8 November 1992, Salem, Oregon, USA. After studying piano and alto saxophone, Mitchell took up the bass while serving in the armed forces. In the late 40s he played in bands led by Jackie Paris, Mundell Lowe, Chubby Jackson (with whom he played piano) and Charlie Ventura.
