Formed in 1973, this San Francisco-based band was founded when ex-members of Stoneground, Cory Lerios (California, USA; keyboards/vocals) and Steve Price (b. California, USA; drums), were joined by Bud Cockrell (b. Missouri, USA; bass) and David Jenkins (b. Florida, USA; vocals/guitar) from It’s A Beautiful Day. 1975’s Pablo Cruise enjoyed critical acclaim for its astute blend of rich, jazz-influenced textures and accomplished instrumental work and while the following year’s Lifeline enhanced this reputation, the quartet reaped commercial rewards when ‘Whatcha Gonna Do?’ from A Place In The Sun reached number 6 in the US singles chart in April 1977.
