Scottish folk band formed in 1990 by three veterans of the Aberdeen music scene, multi-instrumentalists Ian F. Benzie, Jonny Hardie and Buzzby McMillan. Carmen Higgins (fiddle) and Dave Francis (percussion) joined the trio in the first year of the band’s existence, but it was the addition of percussionist Davy Cattanach, who had spent most of his musical life playing in rock and reggae bands, that added a new dimension to their sound. This quartet recorded three well-received albums for the Lochshore label, which mixed contemporary updates of traditional material with a handful of originals, although the band remained best appreciated in a live setting.
