A multi-dimensional aural protest group from Oakland, California, USA, attached to the Alternative Tentacles Records label, Neurosis comprise Steve Von Till (vocals, guitar), Dave Edwardson (guitar, vocals), Jason Roeder (drums), Noah Landis (keyboards) and Scott Terry (guitar, vocals). They began their career as a trio in 1986, before evolving musically and also expanding their personnel. They are highly regarded for their use of video, film and artwork in a live setting, with their performances invoking several mediums to articulate their deeply held suspicions about a modern consumerist society: ‘It takes art and images to describe our concept. The words are just one part, it takes pictures and moving pictures and sound to create the whole, basically.’
