Milton John Hinton, 23 June 1910, Vicksburg, Mississippi, USA, d. 19 December 2000, New York City, New York, USA. During the 20s Hinton played bass with artists such as Boyd Atkins, Tiny Parham and Jabbo Smith. In the early 30s he established his reputation as one of the most reliable and forward-thinking contemporary bass players during engagements with Eddie South, Erskine Tate, Zutty Singleton and Fate Marable.
