Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. One of the leading artists on New York’s underground rap scene, producer, MC, and sometime humanities lecturer Ladd has recorded albums under his own name and as the fictitious Infesticons and Majesticons. Ladd’s imaginary Infesticons/Majesticons conflict is, in his own words, a ‘battle for the heart and soul of black music and culture, a conflict between glimmer and substance’, with the former representing the pure virtues of the underground scene and the latter the excesses of mainstream rap.

Ladd has been performing since the early 80s, initially as a drummer in a punk band before graduating into freestyle rhyming when hip-hop exploded onto the US music scene in the middle of the decade.
