Oklahoma, USA. This Nashville, Tennessee, USA-based guitarist and singer-songwriter has written for many of the city’s leading country acts, in addition to pursuing a solo career as a blues rock performer. Selby attended Ford Hays State University in Kansas, graduating with a degree in music composition. After relocating to Nashville he signed a publishing contract and began to place songs with some big names on the country charts, including Wynonna, Mindy McCready, and Trisha Yearwood. He enjoyed most success as a songwriter in 1998 when the Dixie Chicks took his song, ‘There Goes Your Trouble’, to number 1 in the singles chart. Selby has also provided material for blues rocker Kenny Wayne Shepherd, playing a major part in the writing of the guitarist’s acclaimed 1999 release Live On.
