Margaret Hoeffler, 1926, Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Day had a giant impact in the R&B market for two years, 1950-51, when she hit with ‘Street-Walkin’ Daddy’ (number 7 R&B) and ‘Little Red Rooster’ (number 5 R&B) as lead singer of the Griffin Brothers Orchestra.
