14 June 1895, Hannibal, Missouri, USA, d. 18 July 1972, Los Angeles, California, USA. This diminutive, soft-voiced singer became universally known as ‘Ukelele Ike’, and popularized that instrument during his successful vaudeville career in the early 20s.
