Bob Russell


Sydney Keith Russell, 25 April 1914, Passaic, New Jersey, USA, d. February 1970. A lyricist who provided the words for several all-time standards during the 40s and 50s, Russell later went on to compose background music and themes for a number of films. Early in his career he used the name S.K. Russell on some numbers, and in 1939, his first published song, ‘Busy As A Bee’, was recorded by Helen Forrest with the Benny Goodman Orchestra.
