Biography

Aaron Corthen Reed, 9 May 1926, Wordell, Missouri, USA, d. 26 February 2004, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Reed was attracted to the saxophone by hearing a Jay ‘Hootie’ McShann record. On moving to Chicago at the age of 15, he bought a saxophone and studied music, although he was tutored in the blues by J.T. Brown.
