Manchester, England’s finest acid music combo of the early 90s was founded by Martin Price (26 March 1955, England), owner of the city’s influential Eastern Bloc record shop, and Graham Massey (b. 4 August 1960, Manchester, Lancashire, England; ex-Biting Tongues), who had previously worked in a café opposite the shop. Together with Gerald Simpson, they began recording together as a loose electro / house collective, releasing Newbuild in 1988. Simpson subsequently left to form his own A Guy Called Gerald vehicle, and was replaced by Darren Partington (b. 1 November 1969, Manchester, Lancashire, England) and Andrew Barker (b. 2 November 1969, Manchester, Lancashire, England).
