UK-based dance/spoken-word/multimedia project formed in 2001 by a founding member of Faithless, Jamie Catto (14 August 1968, London, England), and music producer Duncan Bridgeman. The duo released their self-titled debut in April 2002 on the Palm Pictures label. The album featured guest vocalists on every track, including artists such as Michael Stipe of R.E.M. , Baaba Maal, Neneh Cherry, and Eddi Reader. A DVD was released at the same time, documenting the making of the album and the duo’s journey across the world, and featured celebrity appearances including actor Dennis Hopper and author Kurt Vonnegut. Fusing dance music with musical cultures from around the world, the album was later nominated for a Grammy Award and was afforded an extremely favourable critical reception.
