When the Homer Laughlin Co. of Newell, West Virginia, introduced the Fiesta dinnerware line in 1936, it had no idea that the clean design and bright colors were going to revolutionize the face of tableware in the United States.
When the Fiesta line was reintroduced in 1986, after a hiatus from 1973 to 1985, collecting interest surged again. The passion for the vintage colors was reignited, and the line's new colors - including sea mist green and periwinkle blue - created a stir amid a new generation of collectors.
Though originally offered in just five color - red, ivory , cobalt blue, yellow, and green - the number and variety of hues blossomed into a rainbow of colors to satisfy every palette. Turquoise, rose, gray, forest green, chartreuse, and medium green - one of the most popular and valuable - as well as the modern colors of apricot, lilac, plum, cinnabar, and sunflower, lend distinction to the plainest table.
