Science fiction films create a vision of what isn't and shows what very well could be. Science fiction can be Earth-bound or as boundless as the infinite universe. It can involve invasion, monsters, environmental threats or the destruction of the planet, or it can involve a sense of wonder that encourages hope and salvation, pointing the way to a better world. Science fiction, of all the genres, suggests no limits, it makes us think outside the box, so why should we feel compelled to define the genre by such narrow parameters?
