In the sitcom tradition of imperfect suburban family men such as Ray Barone and Archie Bunker, brutish funnyman Jim Belushi (K-9, CURLY SUE) is Jim. Jim is a loving husband and father whose laziness regularly causes him to cut corners to disastrous effect, and whose stubborn machismo all-too-often puts him at odds with his sassy yet rational wife Cheryl (Courtney Thorne-Smith, ALLY MCBEAL). Not helping matters much are Cheryl's seemingly ever-present brother Andy (Larry Joe Campbell), a guy's guy who usually takes Jim's side, and sister Dana (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), who never misses an opportunity to gang up on the titular papa. Through their very bickering, however, it becomes clear that Jim and Cheryl, a regular yin and yang of a couple, never doubt their love for one another for even a moment. Belushi puts a lot of himself into gruff patriarch Jim, a devoted fan of all Chicago-based sport teams who finds artistic release as an avid bluesman. This collection includes all 22 episodes of the long-running family sitcom's first season.
