A wanna-be actress, getting by as a taxi dancer on the seedy side of Los Angeles, learns a lesson in life and aspirations when she falls in love with a fading Hollywood celeb.
Aspiring actress Mercedes earns her living working as a taxi dancer. One evening, a Mexican laborer named Ernesto dances with her and immediately falls for this beautiful, sensual woman. But he also realizes he'll need lots of money for expensive gifts and treats if he wants to win Mercedes' love. She, however, is already devoted to Harry, a married man, and will do whatever she can to make him her own. So when Harry claims to need $10,000 to divorce his wife, Mercedes turns to the unsuspecting Ernesto...
