Product Description:
Jo Ann Campbell was a square-looking girl with a big, nasty voice that when turned all the way up gave Wanda Jackson a run for her money. Collectables' budget-line collection of her brassy and exciting '50s recordings, Wait a Minute, contains ten songs that will knock your socks off ("Wait a Minute," "Let Me Do My Twist"), charm you ("Mama [Can I Go Out]?," "Nervous"), and get your tear ducts working ("I'm Nobody's Baby"). It also contains one of the flat-out toughest recordings of the era, the rock-hard and yearning "I Really Really Love You." If you've never heard Campbell before, you will be signing up for her fan club by the end of this track alone. The only problem with the disc is that it leaves off six tracks from the previous Collectables release, I'm Nobody's Baby, and nine from the WestSide release That Real Gone Gal. You should probably look for either of those because once you hear a little Jo Ann Campbell you'll want to hear as much as you can. ~ Tim Sendra
