"[C]omplex emotions and perceptions keep breaking through the surface in an engaging, thoughtful manner....Writer Sean Reycraft and director Laurie Lind know what they're doing here, and Cavanagh and Bernett register strongly."
New York Times - 10/10/2008
"For its courage to address a ticklish subject with warmhearted humor, BREAKFAST WITH SCOT, adapted from a novel by Michael Downing, deserves a light round of applause."
Tom Cavanaugh (SCRUBS) and Ben Shenkman (ANGELS IN AMERICA) star in this lighthearted Canadian comedy. Former hockey star and sports commentator Eric (Cavanaugh) and his partner, Sam (Shenkman), are living a quiet life in Toronto. That is, until Sam's brother's ex-girlfriend's son shows up on their doorstep, and the men aren't sure what to do in their new roles as dads. They're also surprised to learn that their new arrival, 11-year-old Eric (Noah Bernett), is just as comfortable with his own budding gay identity as they are. BREAKFAST WITH SCOT marks the first gay-centric film to be allowed to use the logos of a professional sports team.
