An exploding motorbike. Air-conditioning ducts spewing cyanide gas. Terrorists, beautiful women, lethal snakes, butt-kicking action and a young Burt Reynolds: Operation C.I.A. has 'em all! Reynolds takes an early starring role as C.I.A. agent Mark Andrews, who's plunged into Vietnam-era intrigue after another agent is murdered before he can deliver a crucial message to the U.S. Embassy in Saigon. Charged with the investigation, Mark arrives in Vietnam posing as an agricultural expert. So many people want to help him - an alluring French spy, a Vietnamese professor, a British journalist. But in a wartorn world of double crosses and sudden death, Mark discovers that if he wants to stay alive, the only one he can trust is himself.
After an American spy is killed while attempting to deliver a vital message to the U.S. ambassador in Saigon, Reynolds is sent to investigate.
