This third installment in the series specially crafted by Collectables for WSNI FM focuses on the greatest hits of one of the most revered labels in pop music: Motown. With every single one of the 25 songs contained herein being either a chart-topper or a major hit, it's hard to refute this as nothing more than an extremely well-sequenced compilation covering Motown's glory years, and at an economically sensible price, it serves as an ideal starting point to those unfamiliar with Motown's vast arsenal of soulful hits. Simply outstanding from start to finish.~ Rob Theakston

Rating 5.0 Great Soul Classics Music Lover: from GRANADA HILLS, CA US -- December, 2, 2014

I sort of envy anyone who likes this kind of music but isn't overly or greatly familiar with it (as I am). While I have enjoyed buying & collecting all of the music on this CD over a period of many years (I have the Stereo LP by Arthur Conley, for example) while this is a terrific value even if you only need one or a few of these titles, especially at the "Cyber Sale" price of $2.38, I'm mainly typing this as there's a mix-up with the review - only ONE title is from a Motown related label: "Cruisin.'" While this is a great recording, four percent of the selections (one out of 25) doesn't qualify this as a collection dedicated to Motown. For example, while Gladys Knight was - for a time - on a Motown related label, she recorded for several labels, and "The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me" - while an exceptional recording - was released on Buddah. Great CD; not so great review.
