"Cattle Decapitation lace stomach-turning subjects like beheadings and scatology into their good ol' gory American death metal."
Kerrang (Magazine) - p.51
"[D]ark melody and vicious, ululating noise attain a filthy jarring symbiosis..."
Cattle Decapitation: Travis Ryan (vocals); Josh Elmore (guitar); Troy Oftedal (bass guitar); Michael Laughlin (drums).
The extreme metal band Cattle Decapitation's unusual but attention-grabbing theme revolves around a series of indignities being visited on humans by the aforementioned livestock, manifested in both a series of brutally eye-catching album covers, and macabre songs like "Success Is... (Hanging By the Neck)" and "Of Human Pride and Flatulence." The band's signature speed metal thrash is topped off with vocals that sound like they're being performed by a pair of huge and particularly tuneful swine, and while the song titles aren't perhaps up to the standard of previous band efforts like "Cloacula: The Anthropophagic Copromantik" or "Scatology Domine," they nevertheless show that Cattle Decapitation is still out to shock by any means necessary.
