In the vein of the Kidz Bop series, Disney's Karaoke Series: Beach Party presents singalong versions of surf and hot rod classics sung by sound-alikes and a backing chorus of kids. The songs -- most of which were originally by the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean -- are well-chosen and well-performed, and include "Fun, Fun, Fun," "Surfin' U.S.A.," "I Get Around," and "Good Vibrations." Though this collection might not be as hip or exciting as the Kidz Bop volumes, Beach Party might be more useful -- it could work very well as a soundtrack to a summer road trip, pool party, or day at the beach. [The Karaoke Series volume of Beach Party includes both vocal and instrumental versions of eight tunes, for a total of 16 tracks in all.] ~ Heather Phares
