Sci-Fi Two-Fer: Contamination / The Shape of Things to Come (2-DVD)

This pair of B-movie science fiction classics includes THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME, based on the novel by H.G. Wells and starring Oscar winner Jack Palance, and CONTAMINATION, directed by Ian McCulloch (ZOMBIE), with co-writer and director Luigi Cozzi (STAR CRASH, THE KILLER MUST KILL AGAIN). The former takes place on the moon, where humans have fled from their destroyed Earth and established a precarious existence, dependent on the mineral RADIC-Q-2 to combat radiation poisoning. When the evil Omus (Palance) and his army of robots gain control of Delta 3, the planet where RADIC-Q-2 is mined, he also assumes power over the populations of the vast domed cities on the moon. It is now up to a team of intrepid scientists, aided by a salvaged robot and led by the brilliant Dr. Caball (Barry Morse) to stop the power hungry Omus. Then, CONTAMINATION arrives on Earth in the form of a ship returning from a disastrous trip that left no one alive. The only passengers are mutated green eggs that wreak destruction on all who approach them. As a government research team delves ever deeper into the mystery, they uncover a dark conspiracy linking the deaths, the aliens, and...coffee. This grisly screamer features a fantastic soundtrack by Goblin (SUSPIRIA), as well as plenty of scenes featuring extravagant explosions of gore and guts, the aliens' preferred method of execution.
