The Duprees first began having hits in the early '60s when they were barely out of their teens. While the Duprees cut an occasional rock and roll tune, the quintet is better known for their work with soft ballads, backed by large, classy Glenn Miller-style orchestras. This 2-CD set, which features their work on the Coed and Heritage labels, shows the group off at their best.
The Duprees includes: Joey Vann, Tommy Bigalow, Joe Santollo, John Salvato, Mike Arnone, Mike Kelly.
Includes liner notes by Mark Marymont.

The Duprees in my opinion were one of the finest DOO-WOP Groups of the "Golden Era" of Rock and Roll. I have been a Fan of DOO-WOP as far back as I can remenber. While there were so very many fine groups, the Duprees stood out. Thier tight harmony is unsurpassed. There voices blend to together like a symphony of pure mellow sounds, a sweet treat for the ears. This CD Collection brings out there very best of DOO-WOP harmony, not only of thier standard hits, but those recordings that are not very often heard. If you are a true DOO-WOP fan, this is a must have two CD treasure. I play them almost everyday at home and at work. I can go on forever when it comes to the Duprees, and I'm sure there are many fans who would gladly second this review, and then say that I fell short in my praise.
