This outstanding Collectables series, "Doo Wop As Seen On TV", features the original recordings of those great groups that appeared on the popular PBS television series. Highlights: The Duprees' "You Belong To Me", Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs' "Stay" and the Capris' "There's A Moon Out Tonight."
This is the eighth volume in Collectables' Doo Wop as Seen on TV series, each of which is a brief ten-song sampler of vintage doo wop singles (it's hard to say what television has to do with any of this). Too short to be much more than a budget loss leader, this installment features the Capris' classic "There's a Moon out Tonight" and Maurice Williams' bouncy and jaunty frat party favorite "Stay," among other hits. Serious fans of the genre will already have everything here, and the short running time makes this a low priority purchase even for novice listeners.
