A collection of 20 of the biggest pop hits of the 50's. All original hits by the original artists that made them great. Includes the rockin' hits "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" by Jerry Lee Lewis,"Bye Bye Love" by The Everly Brothers and "Keep A Knockin'" by Little Richard.
Disc two of the Collectables label's Top Hits of the 50s collection features 20 "Rockin' Hits" that range from straight-up saddle-shoe and poodle-skirt boogie ("Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" by Jerry Lee Lewis) to martini-blurred schmaltzy vocal pop ("Tammy" by Debbie Reynolds). Its schizophrenic nature keeps it firmly in the "accept it as a gift" category, but enough great tracks are here to warrant more than just a passing glance. However, listeners looking to re-create the their own be-pop radio station should look elsewhere, as this collection hardly lives up to its "Rockin'" moniker. ~ James Christopher Monger
