Description by OLDIES.com:
In a small New York town, Sebastian Cole (Adrian Grenier) is an eccentric seventeen-year-old growing up with his mother, stepfather and sister. But when his stepfather, Hank (Clark Gregg), announces that he plans to become a woman, Sebastian's family and life are thrown into a tailspin. His sister escapes to California, while his mother decides she and her son should move to England. A homesick Sebastian soon leaves his mother and moves back to live with Hank. . .who has already begun the transformation to Henrietta. Together, Sebastian and Henrietta form a unique bond. Henrietta becomes the one constant source of strength and faith in her stepson's life, teaching him how to brave the best and worst of his growing pains.
It's 1983, and seventeen-year-old Sebastian Cole's world explodes when his stepfather Hank announces he plans on undergoing a sexual reassignment procedure. When the rest of his family abandons Hank--soon to be Henrietta--the restless and confused Sebastian sticks by his side, forging a unique bond in this poignant coming-of-age drama.
