A two-fer from Collectables, Love Needs/Here We Go features a pair of out of print discs by vocal groups the Harptones and the Jive Five. First issued in 1982, these 24 tracks are made up of both modern and classic doo wop songs including "I'm So in Love with You," "Gee Whiz," (the Harptones) "Chains," "Baby, You're My Only Love," and "Magic Maker, Music Maker," (the Jive Five). This is an enjoyable reissue but doesn't compare to the original tracks these groups recorded in the '50s and '60s. ~ Al Campbell

The best (only?) doo-wop albums released in the early '80s on one low-priced disc. I've been waiting a long time to hear the Five's "Hey Nineteen" and was quite pleased that the other 23 tracks were completely memorable, too. A must.
