At LAST!!!
Music Lover: Kenyatta Becktemba from Riverview, FL US -- December, 8, 2006
First let me thank Oldtime records for persuading the powers that be for releasing this CD from the vaults of where ever it was locked down at.
From time to time I would serch on line to find this CD. In fact, I had forgotten the name of the albulm and had replaced the name (False memory ) with the title of one of the songs. I thought it was " Listen to the rain" but then again it had been My faviorite cut on the CD. Admitidly, my taste have changed since I had this CD. The music is clearly influnced by the expermentation of the time with Jazz. This can be good bad depending on your tast in music. Having said that, at no point does the CD degenerate to undisaplined fusion. It is solidly ancocord by the classic sound of Nat Adderly. My favorite cut is Listen to the rain, and after not having heard it for 20 years (Since all my albums were lost) I still love it. In fact I can't wait for a raining Saturday or Sunday to play it. It take me there.
Over all I recomened this Albulm and only take away 1 star because my taste has changed somewhat in 20 yrs. On another note, I again want to thank Oldtime records for releasing this CD as well as Mingu dynasty Live at Montrux and MIngus Dynasty Chair in the sky. TWo more CD's that spent way to much time gathering dust. I only wish I knew why titles are sat on for so long . I am fifty now, if I don't buy it who will? Who will remmber it?
To Oldies records please see if you can get Eddie Jeffersons CD where he sings "Bennie from Heaven " And Steave Alens Hip Fabels" with Al jazzboux collins.
