Performers, Cast and Crew:
When it comes to describing the action from the frontlines of battlefields across the globe, the one name most Americans immediately conjure up is that of Ernie Pyle. G.I. JOE: ERNIE PYLE takes a look at his historic reporting, by staging re-enactments, and drawing on Pyle's own, highly distinctive reports. A selection of photographs culled from the archives adds a further touch of authenticity to the program, showing how Pyle was really just an ordinary guy with a job to do, albeit one which saw him working in extraordinary circumstances. This tribute to his talents paints a picture of a man willing to work under adverse conditions in order to enlighten his country of the real horrors on the battlefield, and for that he is rightly saluted.
