Vol. 1 of Collectables' Ray Conniff Singles Collection series collects songs from the easy listening giant's prolific 1960s and early-'70s period. Longtime fans will savor this release, as none of the 26 tunes have ever made the jump from their original 45-rpm wax to digital. This is classic Conniff in the "Happiness Is" tradition, songs that are both nostalgic and innocent without the overwhelming sense of kitsch that invaded some of his mid-'70s work. Highlights include "We Must Forget We Ever Met," "Sleepy Shores," "Moonlight Brings Memories," and "Songs Are for Lovers." ~ James Christopher Monger

I HAVE ALMOST ALL OF HIS EARLY ALBUMS AND AM GLAD THEY PUT THIS ONE OUT. HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE A VOLUME II AS HE PUT OUT A LOT MORE SINGLES NOT LISTED HERE. ONE OF THE FINEST MUSICIANS OF ALL TIME--THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE CONNIFF--THERE ARE IMITATORS--BUT THEY DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO HIS SOUND. SONGS THAT WERE LEFT OUT OF VOL. I WERE: "WINDS OF CHANGE, PERRY MASON THEME, THEY TRIED TO TELL ME, EARLY EVENING, GOLDEN EARRINGS, AND OTHERS TO NUMEROUS TO MENTION. I HOPE THEY WILL BE IN VOL. II
Finally WE GET THE SINGLES - those GEM 45's - Volume 1

What can I say....? Ray Conniff has given us such a wealth of GREAT MUSIC with such INTEGRITY.....Hidden amoungst his LPs (about 100+ LPS) are all these beautiful singles that were never released on his LPs, many released on Columbia 45's...My buddies Manfred and Clemens MUST be REALLY GLAD about this CD...As all the Ray Conniff Fans...These singles are a MARVELOUS representation of the variety of style, of music, of creativity that Ray Conniff had throughout his illustrous career...Singles Vol. 1 showcases some of the most beautiful and yet (underexposed) songs in the Ray Conniff Repetoire!I've Got My Eyes On You is simply irresistable....Loss Of Love is terrific.....Rosa, cut during the "Love Story" sessions is fabulous....How about those GEM POP SONGS, Where Were You, We Must Never Forget We Ever Met and Sleep Shores....They are just so PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! What about that HAPPY, POSITIVE PERFECT RAY CONNIFF song, SING ALONG SONG....That would have been perfect on the HAPPY SOUND OF YESTERDAY....But, it was not to be and NOW we have it to Listen to it OVER and OVER and OVER again..

The CD is a very special treat for any Ray Conniff fan. This cd contains songs rarely heard by even the most rabid Conniff fan, as they were not released on any of his previous albums. Being a huge Ray Conniff 70's fan the songs "Where Were You", "We Must Forget We Ever Met", "Sleepy Shores", "Face On The Wind" and "A Man Without A Vision" are an extra special treat. They include the great group of singers that Ray used in the early 70's (Ron Hicklin, the Bahler brothers & Jackie Ward). If you are a fan of Ray's music from the 60's, 70's or any decade, this cd is a must have! Thanks, Collecables for making these wonderful songs available to all of us!
Sure to be one of the all-time best!!

The singles Collection, Volume I, may be the most eagerly-anticipated Ray Conniff release of all time! Collectables is to be congratulated for their continuing efforts to carefully selects, compile, and release the very best of this legendary artist's contributions to art and entertainment. The CD is unique, in that it is composed of singles that the most avid Conniff fans will remember from 45 RPM records, and listening to the radio. This is truly a classic!
