For Sentimental Reasons was originally released by Rhino in 1962, and features the hit title song, which broke the top 50 on both the Pop and R&B Singles charts.

This compilation brings together both Cleftones albums recorded for Gee, Rama, and Roulette Records between 1956 and 1961. Heart and Soul originally consisted of new tracks recorded in stereo along with old mono masters rechanneled in fake stereo; this reissue keeps the actual stereo masters in place and replaces the fakes with the original mono masters. All of their early hits, including the anthemic "Little Girl of Mine," are here along with six new sides from 1961. For Sentimental Reasons utilizes the last of the group's '50s masters ("Hey Babe" and "What Did I Do That Was Wrong"), but the entire album was recorded in real stereo and presented that way here. Both albums are also presented back to back in their original running order. A great package on this seminal doo wop group.
