Product Description:

The transparently unscrupulous world of boxing is thoroughly skewered in this satirical tale of an all-powerful black boxing promoter who's searching for the ultimate box-office draw: a white contender for the championship. Frighteningly--and hilariously--accurate.

Plot Synopsis:

The Reverend Fred Sultan, an ebullient, underhanded boxing promoter, is upset that his Black champ, James Roper, is not exactly raking in the dough. Sultan thinks that the solution is to have Roper fight a White boxer -- who will bring in White fans. But there are no Caucasian contenders, leaving him to recruit Irish Terry Conklin, a one-time boxer who defeated Roper when they were amateurs.
The stage is set for a lucrative prize fight, but there are two obstacles in Sultan's way: one is Marvin Shabazz, a top Black contender, who is furious at not getting his shot. The other is Mitchell Kane, an investigative reporter who's on to Sultan's scheme, and could very easily expose it.
