Baritone Earl Wrightson is one of America's most popular and distinguished singers. On the first of the two original Columbia albums on this compact disc, he (along with Lois Hunt and an orchestra under the direction of Frank DeVol) performs a program of music by operetta composer Rudolf Friml ("The Firefly," "Rose Marie," "The Vagabond King" and "The Three Musketeers.") The second album features Wrightson performing a series of songs based upon the works of William Shakespeare, written by composer-arranger Dick Hyman.
