In this adaptation of the Wilkie Collins novel, the ghostly apparition of a mysterious woman in a white ball gown unnerves Mr. Fairlie (Richardson), who has recently been hired by Mr. Hartright, the master of a Victorian manor, to teach his two nieces. But what's even more alarming is that one of his visiting nieces resembles the apparition Mr. Fairlie has seen exactly.
