Plot Synopsis:

Based on three short stories by the American novelist Paul Bowles, "Half-Moon" sensitively portrays the feelings of alienation and loss that pervade his texts. In the first story, "Merkala Beach," two African boys become friends and entrust everything to each other -- only to have their intense bonds threatened by a pretty girl. "Call at Corazon" follows a newlywed couple as they sail up the Amazon on a disastrous, ultimately vengeful, honeymoon. The final tale, "Allal," describes the mystical adventures of an illegitimate child ostracized from his desert community.
