Two female-driven tales of Mexico comprise this dramatic double feature. In the steamy and dangerous LA DIOSA ARRODILLADO (1947), amorous aristocrat Antonio appeases his wife's request for a garden sculpture...but he has the sensual sculpture made in the likeness of his mistress Raquel (Maria Felix), who desperately wants out of the affair. Inevitably, trouble arises for Antonio. In LA GENERALA (1971), the life of a tough, wealthy female landowner fall is transformed by the Mexican Revolution. After she loses her land and her home, the landlady falls in love with a revolutionary leader, only to have him taken away from her forever by a corrupt federal officer. Now she herself will leave a path of destruction.
