Description by OLDIES.com:
Beautiful Jean Carlo flees to the Reno ranch of Lee Rogers to escape her brutal husband, gang boss Howard Carlo. Annoyed at having to deal with a woman on an important cattle drive, Rogers puts her to work washing dishes. Over time, the two fall in love. But a crooked lawyer reveals the girl's whereabouts to the gangsters back East. Rogers has his hands full when Carlo and a swarm of heavily armed criminals show up looking for Jean and are out for blood.
Secret Valley's star, Richard Arlen, was a real-life pilot serving as a flight instructor in World War II. Arlen is best known for his role in the 1927 Academy Award winner, Wings, but also appeared in Hollywood classics including The Four Feathers (1929) and Island Of Lost Souls (1933). He was honored for his five decade career with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Secret Valley has a fine supporting cast including Syd Saylor, Jack Mulhall and beautiful Virginia Grey.
Released in Great Britain as GANGSTER'S VALLEY, SECRET VALLEY is a modern western (that is, it takes place in 1937). Richard Arlen plays a Nevada rancher who is compelled to extend his hospitality to headstrong Virginia Grey. She has arrived to establish residency in Nevada, the better to secure a divorce from her husband Jack Mulhall, a notorious gangster. When Mulhall shows up with guns at the ready, he finds out that his city methods are no match for the Cowboy Way. SECRET VALLEY was produced independently by Sol Lesser, and distributed by 20th Century-Fox.
