Product Description:

This remake of Robert Wiene's German Expressionist classic uses digital technology to place speaking actors among the surreal backdrops of the silent original. A dark tale of madness and murder, this "remixed" DR. CALIGARI keeps in close step with the original. When a fair comes to town, it brings the mysterious hypnotist Dr. Caligari who uses mind control to turn a villager into a catatonic killer. However, a late twist in the film throws even these certainties into doubt. As with the original, the film's dreamlike visuals are stunning, and, still, the main attraction.
