A lively street peddler of snake-oil puts his pitching skills to good use on the campaign trail when he decides to become a politician.

Plot Synopsis:

A Southern huckster rises in politics by championing poor sharecroppers and fingering the corruption rampant in big business. But in his attempt to get elected governor, this Huey Long-like character becomes as corrupt as the men he's been railing against.
