The film THE PAJAMA GAME, based on the 1954 Broadway musical, opened in theaters in 1957, and while it paled somewhat in comparison to its original counterpart, it did feature most of the original cast and the then tremendous star power of Doris Day. John Raitt, Carol Haney, and Eddie Foy, Jr., join Day on the lively, seductive tails of life and love in a pajama factory. Raitt owned the classic showstopper ballad "Hey There" on stage, and so it is on film. Day's performance is typically competent or better and the music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross remains brilliant.
