Tennessee-born Dinah Shore was the first major female vocalist to break from a Big Band and begin a successful solo career, scoring a staggering 86 chart hits in the '40s and '50s. Her TV career was just as successful, with "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show," and "Dinah!" (the very first daytime talk show). This collection examines the depth and breadth of Shore's ability with standards such as "Come Rain or Come Shine," "I've Got You Under My Skin," and "'S Wonderful".

If you are a true admirer of Dinah Shore circa 1940s, this CD fills a lot of blanks in your collection.

This is a delightful assembly of a few top 50s and a load of her excellent but under appreciated recordings. There are more forgotten gems on this CD than any other to be found.
