Product Description:

Original score composed by Friedrich Hollander.
Emil Jannings' 1930 film THE BLUE ANGEL catapulted Marlene Dietrich from a struggling German stage actress and singer to one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. The film, in which Dietrich plays Lola Lola, a singer/dancer who tempts a straitlaced teacher, is a classic of the German cinema. More importantly, it established Dietrich's popular persona as a sensuous but forbiddingly aloof presence. The score, written by Friedrich Hollander, is presented in its entirety on this reissue by the Spanish reissue label Soundtrack Factory; among the classics first heard in this film are the sly "See What The Boys in the Back Room Will Have" and "Lili Marlene," one of the defining songs of Dietrich's career and one which she sang for the rest of her life.
