While he's often identified by his decades-long membership in the Modern Jazz Quartet, Milt Jackson also maintained a prolific solo career. Jackson was perhaps the first vibraphonist who adapted the bebop innovations of Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell to his style, and thereby evolved into one of the greatest soloists in jazz history. Recorded in the mid-1960s, LIVE AT THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART captures the forever young, always-swinging Jackson in a typically relaxed yet inspired performance.
