Plot Synopsis:

CREEPSHOW presents five tales of horror, gore, and morbid humor, written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero. The film's style is a tribute to E.C. Comics, the campy horror comic books of the 1950s. Beware of (or watch for) a scene featuring hundreds of cockroaches...

  • Theatrical release: October 31, 1982.
  • An E.C.-style comic book adaptation of the film, drawn by artist Berni Wrightson (SWAMP THING) was released to coincide with the film.
  • The "Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" story bears a close resemblance to the H.P. Lovecraft tale, "The Colour Out of Space," which was adapted into the 1987 film THE CURSE.
  • Ed Harris appeared in director George Romero's KNIGHTRIDERS in the previous year.
