Product Description:

James Earl Jones takes Robeson through his career as an actor and his most famous role as Othello, and through his phenomenal career as a concert artist. It also touches upon his disappointments with the U.S. government and his historic differences with the system in this one-man show.

Plot Synopsis:

A filmed performance of James Earl Jones' one-man-show about singer/actor Paul Robeson, whose controversial political views ended his career prematurely.
The multi-talented Robeson was an accomplished athlete and scholar before his superlative career in show business even began. But Robeson often spoke out against racism, and sided with the Soviet Union during the Cold War. As a result, Robeson's career took a serious downturn, and he was virtually blacklisted from the entertainment industry. A few years before his death, however, Robeson's career was briefly resurrected. The actor died in 1976.
