On this musical portrait of the sights, sounds and spirit of Detroit, Lateef is backed by a wide variety of musicians including Eric Gale on guitar, Hugh Lawson on piano, Jimmy Owens and Snookie Young on trumpet, and both Cecil McBee and Chuck Rainey on bass. "Detroit" is one of Lateef's most unique and original recordings.

Recortded at Century Sound Studios, New York, New York. Originally released on Atlantic (1525). Includes liner notes by Saeeda Lateef.
