Product Description:

Japan's Aum Shinrikyo cult is notorious for having released poisonous gas into Tokyo's subways in 1995. This pair of unnerving documentaries explores the cult from the inside out, offering a devastating portrait of society on the brink.

Product Description:

In these two controversial documentaries, filmmaker Tatsuya Mori reveals the inner workings of the notorious Aum Shinrikyo cult, which was accused of releasing deadly poison gas into the Tokyo subway in 1995. Mori benefited from unprecedented access to the sect, resulting in a multi-faceted view of the cult members and the society that fears them. “Rather than explain Aum,” says Mori about his controversial films, “I wanted to show how Japanese society has deteriorated.”
